Ingredients

  • 5 oz good quality white wine, chilled (such as Albariño)
  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh fruit, sliced (such as apples, peaches, grapes, and strawberries)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1 tablespoon fruity liquor of choice
  • ice cubes
  • sparkling water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the fruit as desired. Slice the grapes in half and other fruits into cubes or thin slices.
  2. Place the fruit in a large bowl, add the sugar, and gently toss. Allow the fruit to macerate for at least 5 minutes, or preferably overnight in the fridge, tossing occasionally.
  3. Stir the brandy and liquor into the macerated fruit, then transfer to a large pitcher.
  4. Fill the pitcher three-quarters of the way with the chilled white wine and stir gently to combine.
  5. Let the fruit infuse the wine in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, for the best flavor. Alternatively, serve immediately if time is limited.
  6. To serve, fill a large glass with ice, add some of the soaked fruit, pour in the wine leaving a little space at the top. Top it off with sparkling water and enjoy immediately.
