Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp water
  • 7-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 5 oz non-alcoholic cider or prosecco
  • 1/2 oz orange juice (or 1/3 oz triple sec)
  • 1-1.50 oz mint simple syrup
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries or mixed fresh or frozen berries
  • Optional: extra mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, sugar, and fresh mint. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat.
  2. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes, remove the mint, and transfer to a large mason jar or another container. Chill in the refrigerator.
  3. In a pitcher, mix the berries, orange juice, lemon, and 1 cup of the simple syrup. If using frozen berries, no need to thaw.
  4. If serving immediately, pour the cider or prosecco over the fruit and serve chilled. If serving later, prepare the fruit mixture 8-12 hours in advance and add the sparkling beverage just before serving.
  5. Adjust sweetness with more simple syrup if desired.
  6. Serve the Summer Berry Fizz immediately over ice. Garnish with extra mint leaves or more fruit in the glasses if desired.
