Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila (blanco or añejo, or gin or vodka)
  • 2 oz Cranberry juice
  • 1 oz Lime juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau (or triple sec)
  • 1-2 Mint leaves (Fresh)
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt (for the rim)
  • Sugared cranberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Optional: To make sugared cranberries, coat fresh cranberries in simple syrup, then roll them in dry cane sugar and let them dry.
  2. Use a lime wedge to rub the rim of the glass, then dip it in kosher salt to coat the rim.
  3. Squeeze fresh lime juice.
  4. Measure the tequila, cranberry juice, cointreau, simple syrup, and pick a few mint leaves.
  5. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine the lime juice, tequila, cranberry juice, cointreau, simple syrup, and mint leaves.
  6. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  7. Add ice to the rimmed glass.
  8. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  9. Optionally, top off with seltzer water or champagne.
  10. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a few sugared cranberries.
  11. Serve cold and enjoy!
