Koji Miso Sour
The Koji Miso Sour is a flavorful twist on the classic whiskey sour, featuring white miso paste, rich demerara syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and lightly peated Scotch.
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon white miso paste
- 3/4 oz rich demerara syrup
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz lightly peated Scotch
- 1 wide strip lemon zest (removed with a vegetable peeler)
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, mash the miso paste with a portion of the demerara syrup until completely dissolved.
- Add the remaining demerara syrup, Scotch, and lemon juice to the shaker.
- Fill the shaker halfway with ice, cover, and shake for 15 seconds.
- Double strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
- Express the lemon twist over the glass, with the skin side down, and drop it into the glass.
