Ingredients

  • 1/2 orange (charred and juiced)
  • 1/2 lemon (charred and juiced)
  • 2 blood oranges (charred and juiced)
  • 1/2 cup beet juice
  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. beet citrus juice
  • 4 oz. tonic
  • ice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to HIGH broil.
  2. Halve the orange, lemon, and blood oranges and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Char the citrus in the oven on the top rack for 7-10 minutes.
  4. Allow the charred citrus to cool, then squeeze all of the juice from the halves to obtain 1/2 cup of juice.
  5. Mix the beet juice with the charred citrus juice and let it cool in the fridge.
  6. In a shaker with ice, combine the vodka and beet citrus juice and shake well.
  7. Pour the mixture into an 8oz. glass with ice and top with tonic.
  8. Stir and serve.
